Supper after sundown
A room, a feeling.
A gathered dining room where midnight walls meet ruby seating, worn wood and candlelight.
Make the table the centre of the room, even when nobody is sitting at it. A single arrangement of branches or a pair of sculptural candlesticks is enough to make it feel considered between meals.

A few styling notes.
Dark walls sit beautifully beside warm wood. If the room is small, give the table a little space around it and use a mirror to catch whatever daylight is available. Red upholstery adds colour without making every object compete.
Keep the things you touch unfussy: comfortable chairs, washable napkins and glasses you enjoy using. Let the atmosphere come from the room around them.
Choose a low centrepiece so that people can see each other across the table. Lit candles need stable holders, clear space around them and someone present; flameless alternatives make sense for a display you want to leave in place.
